Selecting a Default Printer
If you click the Printer icon from the toolbars of Windows programs, the document will be sent to the default printer. If you don't know which printer has been set as the default, use the Print window to select the proper printer. This will help to avoid sending documents to the color or large-format printers by accident and large printing fees.

You can select the proper default printer from the list in the
Print Window by selecting Print from the File menu of the application used to create the document to be printed.

Click on the drop-down menu for the
Printer Name:. This will show a list of all the printers that you have added to your GGCS Windows user profile. If the desired printer is not listed, use the instructions in the GGCS Help File "Setting Up Network Printers in Windows" to add it.

Sending Documents to the Printer
Once the Default Printer has been selected, a document can be sent to the printer by one of two methods.

1) Click the printer icon in the Toolbar of the application used to create the document. This will send the document directly to the printer with all the default options. This method will print all pages in a multi-page document.

2) Select Print from the File menu of the application used to create the document. This will allow you to print a section of the document by specifying a Page range.

MS Word Note: Word specifies pages by the format of the pages numbers added to the document. If you are printing the Preface of a document which has roman numeral page numbers (i.e. i,ii,iii,iv,v,,etc.), you must enter roman numerals into the Print Window to specify a page range.
