Troubleshooting the HP LaserJet 5M Please do not go beyond the troubleshooting tips provided in this document. If you are having trouble with the printer, please see Technical Support (ESB 1036). Adding Paper Pull the drawer out from the bottom of the front of the printer. This drawer is designed only for US Letter paper. Follow the directions and pictures printed on the paper drawer to place the paper correctly into the drawer. US Legal Size and A4 paper can be inserted into the manual-feed tray on the front of the printer. Do not insert more than one sheet at a time to avoid the risk of jamming the printer. Paper is usually stored on the lower shelf of the printer table. If there is no paper, please contact Technical Support (ESB 1036). Do not attempt to print on both sides of a sheet of paper! You will damage the printer! Use the copier to print on both sides of a page. Paper Jam If there is a paper jam, contact Technical Support (ESB 1036). Please do not open the printer! Uneven Ink or Empty Ink Cartridge If you notice that the printer is not distributing ink evenly or that the ink cartridge is empty, please contact Technical Support (ESB 1036). Please do not open the printer or try to remove the ink cartridge!
